Nothing quite compares to the look and feel of a solid oak floor. Traditionally, solid wood flooring was a structural part of a building as the planks spanned the floor joists, now it is possible to have a solid oak floor laid in your property even if you have a concrete sub floor. Solid hardwood floors always look distinctive as each piece of wood has a unique grain and feel to it, something that cannot be replicated during a manufacture process. Solid wood floors do change gradually over time as they age and become gently worn, this adds to their beauty and natural charm. Solid wood flooring is extremely hard wearing and no two planks will be the same, ensuring you of a truly original and elegant look throughout your home. Hardwood oak floors are an environmentally friendly flooring solution. As wood is a totally renewable resource, we only ever supply natural materials from sustainable sources
We also supply and fit engineered wood flooring, this is less costly than having a solid wood floor installed. Engineered wood flooring consists of cross ply layers glued together and then topped with a layer of real wood. Engineered wood flooring still provides the client with all the benefits of a real wood floor in terms of how it looks and how it feels, with the additional benefit of a more economical solution for your budget
Laminate flooring has a manufactured image of wood adhered to a ply layered base. Laminate flooring has a pattern repeat and is very easy to keep clean. Although laminate flooring is not as robust as wooden flooring, it does provide a very cost effective way of having a wood effect floor economically supplied and fitted. This type of flooring is particularly popular with our commercial clients for the private rental sector
Whichever type of floor you choose for your project, Carl Winn Joinery offer a complete measuring, supply and fitting service. To complete the look, we can also supply and fit skirting, architraves, wood panelling to walls and doors to match and complement the room scheme.
