Our director, Carl Winn, comes from a proud family of tradesmen. As the third generation of joiners in his family, woodworking and craftsmanship have been a part of Carl’s life from the start.

Carl honed his skills at York College, completing a five-year apprenticeship where he earned his Advanced Level NVQ and was recognized as Apprentice of the Year. This early success cemented his dedication to quality and set him on a path to becoming a trusted name in the building industry.

From Apprentice to Business Owner

After his apprenticeship, Carl built an impressive career, progressing from a hands-on joiner to a site manager. In 2015, Carl took the leap and started Carl Winn Joinery Limited.

What began as a one-man operation has grown into a thriving business, employing five talented team members full-time. Along the way, Carl has built strong relationships within the building industry, which help him ensure every project is completed to the highest standards.
