Hi, I’m Carl Winn, the director of Carl Winn Joinery and a proud third-generation joiner. Joinery isn’t just a job for me – it’s a craft I’ve grown up with and developed a real passion for over the years.
A Family Tradition
With a father and grandfather who were both tradesmen, you could say joinery runs in my blood. I started my professional journey at York College, completing a five-year apprenticeship that gave me a solid foundation in the trade.
long the way, I earned my Advanced Level NVQ and was even awarded Apprentice of the Year, something I’m still proud of to this day.
After my apprenticeship, I gained experience working in the building industry, moving from joiner to site manager. In 2015, I took the leap and started Carl Winn Joinery Limited. What began as a one-man operation has grown into a thriving business with a fantastic team of five full-time professionals.
Leading With a Hands-On Approach
Even as the business has expanded, I’ve stayed closely involved in every project. You’ll often find me on-site, working alongside the team or carrying out site surveys. I believe in leading by example, and my focus on detail and customer satisfaction drives everything we do.
Life Beyond Joinery
Outside of work, my world revolves around my two daughters, Emma-Rose and Harper-Mae. Whether we’re out and about or just spending quality time together, being a dad is something I treasure.
To stay active and keep my energy up, I hit the gym regularly. It’s a great way to unwind and stay fit while balancing work and family life.
At Carl Winn Joinery, we bring together years of experience, a dedication to quality, and a friendly, professional approach. Whether it’s bespoke joinery or a full-scale renovation, my team and I are here to deliver results you’ll love.
If you’re planning a project, get in touch – I’d love to hear what you’ve got in mind!
